January
The year started with a position at Creative Rush as a graphic/web designer.

Working with directors/owners Ant Hodges, Bruce Gamble and the team was a huge boost to my career. The whole team was very dynamic and hands on.


We had a fantastic spirit at CR and I learnt more in my time there than I have anywhere else.


Sadly the economic downturn affected the business and Ant and Bruce decided to close the doors and go their separate ways.
Ant now works as Business Development Director at toinfinity, Swindon's Premier Digital Marketing Agency and I still keep in close contact with him as toinfinity offer some great services which compliment what I aim to achieve with Deefer Design.

August
Upon leaving Creative I decided to re-brand my own freelance business. Having traded as Wasted Talent Designs for around 6 years I wanted to freshen the business up and take it up a gear.

Deefer Design was born and my first client was Sam Delaney, an established journalist and author who now finds himself as Editor of Heat Magazine.
I designed and built (with the help of ex-Creative Rush colleague and top notch web coder, Phil Dixon) Sam's website and also did some SEO work. I am currently setting up Sam's newsletter campaign for 2010. I also host his Stupid Telly podcast show and website.

As designer and cover creator for QPR fanzine A Kick Up The R's I was very pleased to see that we won an award for the second year running as both best Championship Fanzine and then for the second year, Best Overall Football League Fanzine.

‘A Kick Up The R’s’ – QPR FC
The QPR fanzine takes an Award for the second year running. With excellent design, creative covers and terrific content AKUTR’s is a labour of love and a great read for any QPR fan. The fledgling website launched this year could be one to watch for the future.



More recently I have taken on new clients for both graphic design, web work, SEO and some social media. Whilst I do not claim to be an expert in SEO and Social Media I can help set you up and get you started. There are some bigger and better companies out there who are gurus in this but for now I can offer an affordable entry level.

November
I joined the team for 'WE ARE QPR Podcast'. It's a new podcast show hosted by actor Alex Lowe and Caspar Delaney. The 'pilot' show was well received and reached number 6 in the iTunes Sports chart within 3 days of it's release. I designed the show's website at www.qprpodcast.co.uk and have taken on all marketing and PR, hosting and design for the show. It starts properly in January 2010 and with QPR being QPR there will be plenty to talk about!

So, here we are at the end of another year.
My aim is to make Deefer Design grow it's client base in 2010 and continue to offer affordable creative design, web design, SEO & Social Media services to start ups, small businesses and  individuals.
